Whitworth Rushcart

Here are the final details for this year's Whitworth Rushcart on Sunday 6th September, kindly provided by Mark Ambrose of Whitworth Morris.
1200 hrs Meet at Whitworth Band Club, 498 Market Street, Whitworth, OL12 8QW fo drinks and butties. The beer festival is on again this year with all beers at £2 a pint with a £10 ticket or £2-25 each. Wobbly Bob proved a very popular pint at 6% last year, not sure it improved the dancing but it certainly deadened the pain !
1250 hrs Parade forms up in North Street opposite Band Club and sets off at 1300 hrs for The Riverside civic hall, OL12 8DP.
1320 hrs Arrive at Riverside for an afternoon of family entertainment, dance displays, brass band, rides, craft and food stalls.
1630 hrs [approx] Event at The Riverside ends, regroup back at the Band Club for a music/singing session.
1830 hrs There is a short church service at Saint Bartholomew's above Whitworth Square to present the ceremonial rush bolts, which anybody is welcome to attend, further opportunity for some community singing. We will then return to the Band Club for more singing and music.
Food - We will provide butties at the Band Club and there are food stalls at The Riverside. They are also various restaurants and pubs serving food in the village.
Parking - Is available at North Street car park opposite The Sportsman pub, at free car park between the Co-op and Tesco and on street parking near the Riverside, but not on their car park.
There is a folk artiste on in the Band Club on Saturday night called Bernard Cromarty for anybody making a weekend of it.
We will be building the Rushcart on Saturday morning/lunch in North Street car park. On Sunday morning we will be putting the finishing touches to the cart and the museum will be open from 1030 hrs for toilets, toast and a brew if you arrive early. If you could let me know rough numbers of dancers and musicians it would help with catering.
